In a blog post at The Hill Newspaper, California Representative Dennis Cardoza goes off on the president calling him everything short of a child of God. And to be honest that might’ve been nicer than what he suggested in his blog. Cardoza starts off his blog by saying:
After observing President Obama for the last three years, it has become obvious to me that the president might prefer to be a university professor rather than do the job he holds today. While he might not realize that he feels this way, the evidence is very clear to those who work with or watch him closely.
Let me be clear — I’m not trying to disparage professors. But anyone who wonders why the president is not crushing the weak Republican field only needs to examine how President Obama has behaved more like Professor Obama:
Translated: your wife is an ugly pig. I’m not trying to disparage pigs and all, but it’s pretty obvious to me that she behaves and looks more like a pig than a human being you would actually marry. Ouch. He might as well say it since he’s going there. What’s up with that?
The piece goes on to accuse Obama of being Out of Touch with regular people, lacking a coherent message strategy within his own party and ultimately not being Bill Clinton.
Cardoza is not running for re-election and he’s a Blue Dog Democrat so his criticisms are sincere and predictable given his conservative leanings.
But he is just another reminder of the problems that Obama faces going forward in 2012. Democrats are horribly disloyal and will run to the hills the moment they think things might be going south. I’m sure that Cardoza is not only speaking for himself, which means President Obama has a great deal of work to do amongst his own party, let alone base, before he can start targeting swing voters to get re-elected.
