And that is just ONE of the lines in the hilarious new “Wake the F@#K Up” video starring Samuel Jackson that has hit the internet in the last 24 hours encouraging luke warm Obama supporters to vote, volunteer and get serious again. You can see the almost four minute video here. The video itself, is pretty much NSFW unless you work at the DNC or MSNBC but it hammers home a pretty important point to a very important constituency for the Obama administration, his 2008 supporters.
The video, produced by the Pro-Obama SuperPac The Jewish Council for Research and Education features a Dr. Suess-like Jackson popping up in the home of a suburban family who support Obama but aren’t really on the grind for him this year like they were in 2008. With the help of the youngest child in the family Jackson magically appears from room to room telling the parents, the grandparents, the now cynical eldest son, and even the teenage daughter who isn’t of voting age what will happen if Mitt Romney and Ryan move into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Sorry my friend, but there’s no time to snore, the out-of-touch millionaires just declared war; on schools, the environment, unions, fair pay. We’re all on our own if Romney has his way. He’s against safety nets. If you fall, tough luck. So I strongly suggest you WAKE THE F*** UP
– He bellows to the parents lounging on the couch.
How about that student-loan overhaul? It’s going to save you thousands of bucks. Mitt’s gonna cut that s*** in a second. WAKE THE F*** UP!”
-He rhymes to the college aged son who thinks all politicians are the same.
The video was written by Adam Mansbach, author of the best bedtime story for Generation X parents, “Go the F@#k to Sleep.” Jackson has worked with Mansbach before and you can tell he relishes his role here as the Paul Revere for the apathetic Obama supporter. Given that Jackson had some sage advice for Obama this past February it’s safe to say that with this ad he feels that he is stepping up at the right time to make Obama a two term president.
