Jason Johnson, Hiram College professor on Politics Editor of The Source Magazine, held a workshop at the Congressional Black Caucus Political Training Boot Camp. Professor Johnson discussed the findings of his new book Political Consultants and Campaigns: One Day to Sell.
The CBC Institute is a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose mission, in part, is to help prepare a new generation of African-Americans and other minorities for public and private sector leadership roles. The Political Training Program “Boot Camp” is an initiative of the CBC Institute designed to generate a pool of minority professionals who are well-qualified with regard to public and private sector policy issues and the conduct of political campaigns.
Political Consultants and Campaigns: One Day to Sell is Jason Johnson’s first book. It is the product of Professor Johnson’s surveys of campaign managers and political consultants. One Day to Sell examines how political professionals apply political science theory to such subjects as message formation, policy positioning, candidate recruitment and negative advertising.
